Can the client actually make money on these plans?

Yes, is the short answer! Normally however only small percentage do.  Almost all of these success stories are people who keep contributing to the end of the term.

The sad facts are that only 3%-4% of people contribute to the full 25-year terms. I personally have overseen some success stories with clients from A-Z with 10 years plans. I have some on track to make good money but I have not been in the industry for 15 years to see these clients to fruition. I will keep you updated here.

Most people stop contributing for a multitude of reasons. Their advisor being paid up front stops managing their investments as he has no incentive. Admin issues like lost cards or lost communication. Loss of trust. Poor performance plus many more.

Particularly confusing is that the charges aren’t consistent and can be VERY hard to understand.

Charges are high in years 1 or 2 as a rule of thumb. They lower after 10 years if you make it that far!
