Should People Complain to the Regulators if They Feel Miss Sold?

It depends on the jurisdiction you resided in when you took the advice or conducted the transfer. It also depends on where your advisor was based at the time the advice was given or conducted.

Some jurisdictions are highly regulated. These include the UK, USA, the EU, Hong Kong or Singapore. These jurisdictions have procedures in place that support complaints and any potential support from said complaint. Yet these jurisdictions have their own due diligence meaning the typical offshore products I discuss in this article will not be sold in these markets.

As previously mentioned most regulated markets do not sell these types of plans. Thus where you find many of these products are in markets where no complaints are able to be made. Also the regulator will not have and power to act on any complaints received.
